In 2019, following a significant reorganization, the association was renamed Grube Anna Bergbauinformationszentrum Alsdorf (GABI Alsdorf), continuing its mission to educate and inspire future generations.

The Buildings of Energeticon

The converter room contains a 21-ton Illgn disc, used to provide emergency power.

The older section once housed the baths and showers used by miners after their shifts. The newer section replaced a part of the building destroyed by a grisou gas explosion in 1930. Today, this building hosts exhibitions on the social and labor history of mining, the basics of energy science, and renewable energy sources, particularly solar power.

The Chapel of Saint Barbara

Adjacent to the museum stands the Chapel of Saint Barbara, a poignant reminder of the miners' spiritual life. In 2015, a 1.30-meter-tall metal statue of Saint Barbara was installed in the chapel. This statue, dating back to the 1950s and 1960s, was originally located in the tunnel branch connecting the Anna I and Anna II mines, 610 meters underground. In the late 1960s, it was moved another 250 meters down, remaining at 860 meters deep until 1986. After resurfacing, the statue spent time at the Eschweiler Mining Association's headquarters in Herzogenrath - Kohlscheid and the Alsdorf town hall lobby before finding its final home in the chapel. A stele in the adjacent Anna Park marks the statue's exact underground location within the mine.
