The courtyard, once used by farmers to dry their harvested grain, was designated for the construction of a war memorial, honoring the fallen soldiers of Angri.

Structural Damage and Restoration

The devastating Irpinia earthquake of November 23, 1980, rendered Castle Doria inaccessible. However, four years later, after extensive restoration efforts, the castle reopened as the seat of the municipality. The early 21st century saw further renovations, beginning in 2018 and concluding in early 2022, ensuring the castle's preservation for future generations.
