In the mid-1920s, the villa transformed into a health retreat under the ownership of the general health insurance company of Rheydt. This era saw the coach house converted into a bathhouse and the villa adorned with a grand city crest of Rheydt, although this emblem no longer graces its façade.

A Sanctuary Through the Ages

The villa's role shifted dramatically during World War II. It became a sanctuary for soldiers of the British Royal Air Force and later American troops. The French occupation saw it serving as an officers' casino, adding yet another layer to its multifaceted history.

Post-war, the Landesversicherungsanstalt Düsseldorf reclaimed the villa, but it soon fell into disuse. In 1956, a significant change occurred when the Stiftung Hospital zum Heiligen Geist acquired the property. This transaction led to the Borromäerinnen order taking residence, transforming it into a school for domestic and social sciences, aptly named St. Carolus.
