The wreck's preservation involved using a sugar-water solution to treat the delicate oak wood remains. The process of salvaging and conserving the wreck, which took place between July 1994 and 1997, is thoroughly documented through display boards and video presentations. In an adjacent room, visitors can view a traditional skin boat and various historical finds from the Wadden Sea.
