It was strategically positioned along the main road from Monza to Milan, which is how it earned its name, in Strada, meaning on the road.

In the following years, the church was expanded and enhanced. Around 1421, the addition of the choir, sacristy, and bell tower marked a significant transformation. The church's structure evolved further in 1610 when Archbishop Carlo Borromeo ordered the construction of a barrel vault, replacing the original wooden trusses. This modification also included the closure of the tall single-lancet windows and the windows of the choir.

Architectural Marvels
