The Escuelas Lope de Vega de Parla is a single-story building that epitomizes the neomudéjar architectural style, characterized by its use of exposed brick and traditional Arab tiles. The school originally consisted of two separate modules, one for boys and one for girls, each with its own independent entrance. However, in 2020, a comprehensive restoration project began, aiming to breathe new life into this historic structure. The restoration was carried out in three phases, starting with the repair of the roof and the restoration of the two chimneys. The second phase focused on creating an open interior space suitable for use as a museum and exhibition hall. The final phase, completed in late 2022, included detailed interior work, facade rehabilitation, and the installation of exterior lighting and glass enclosures to enhance visibility, security, and accessibility.

The Almudena Grandes Cultural Center

Today, the Escuelas Lope de Vega de Parla has been reborn as the Almudena Grandes Cultural Center, inaugurated on December 3, 2022.
