The market’s roofs are inclined and feature two innovative domes, one for the fish market and another for the main market area. At the top of the main dome stands a weather vane known as the Cotorra del Mercat, which, depending on the wind direction, appears to communicate with another weather vane, the Pardalot de Sant Joan, located on the nearby church. The iron framework that supports the roofs is reminiscent of large industrial iron architectures, such as the Estació del Nord and the Mercat de Colom.

The perimeter walls, which serve only as enclosures, are adorned with colorful ceramic tiles at their base, metallic shutters, and golden reflective tiles at the top. Stone elements are used for the corners and entrances, adding a touch of solidity and elegance to the structure.
