The original edifice, designed by the Chambéry architect Charles-Bernard Pellegrini, featured a central ballroom flanked by two salons—one for gaming and the other for reading and correspondence.

Over the years, the casino expanded, reflecting its growing popularity. In 1880, two lateral pavilions were added, and by 1899, a grand theatre with a seating capacity of 900 was constructed, complete with intricate wooden machinery. This theatre, known as the Théâtre du Casino Grand Cercle, remains a testament to the artistic and cultural aspirations of the time.

Two operating rooms were set up in a small room adjacent to the bridge room and the northwest gallery.

Despite the ongoing war, life in Aix-les-Bains gradually resumed, and by the spring of 1915, the mayor requested the authorities to release the Grand Cercle from its hospital duties to restore the town's appeal to visitors and spa-goers. The evacuation of the building began in November 1915 and was completed by January 1916, allowing the casino to once again serve as a beacon of leisure and luxury.
