Saint Nicholas Concathedral

Saint Nicholas Concathedral, known locally as Konkatedrála svätého Mikuláša, is a stunning architectural gem nestled in the heart of Prešov, Slovakia. The southern extension, completed in 1505, added a new dimension to the church's architecture, making it a harmonious blend of old and new elements. The entire reconstruction was completed by 1515, resulting in the majestic building that stands today.

The Altar of Saint Joseph, found in the northern nave, is a blend of Renaissance and Baroque styles, with a central painting of Saint Joseph and a depiction of the Virgin Mary on the predella. This altar was recently restored in 2021, revealing its original black and gold decoration.

Other notable altars include the neo-Gothic Altar of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the neo-Gothic Altar of Saint Anne with the Blessed Virgin Mary, both of which were restored in 2021.
