By 1959, the museum had been entrusted to the city council, which enriched the collection through acquisitions and donations.

In 1963, a significant merger with the Diputació de Barcelona brought together the Viñas textile collection and its specialized library, forming the Provincial Textile Museum. The current building, designed by architect Camil Pallàs, was constructed atop the beautiful Vallparadís Park. The museum's name was updated in 1995 to reflect its broader mission and scope.
